Editor,

SINCE the tsunami come to Niuatoputapu we are very blessed on the island to recieve much assistance from abroad. Not just from foreign
countries and organisations but also from many, many individuals who have given their money and their effort. Some people related to islanders, but some too only visit our island but remember us in our time of need. Also people who never even come to Niuatoputapu but want to help us anyway.

From all the islanders I would like to say to all those who help your kindness is very, very appreciated. I don't know the names of everyone donate to us, but I would like to thank with all my heart everyone, and make mention of those I do know.

Since first day of tsunami many yachties help us, even coming to bring food to hospital and help clear runway for plane to come. Then they help me in hospital and later they help to mend homes. Three people in particular, in America, help raise money for our health centre; Tracy Willet, Joan Wood and Lori Osmundsen and buy us much equipment including opthalmoscope, laptop computer, and solar panels and lights. Bruce Hunt and all his team at the Australian High Commission work very hard too to approve quickly our aid applications and send on their navy boat equipment for our health centre, and also help for our women's groups, including pandanus replanting.

And other people work with me, give their time and effort, including Sister Tohi, Sister Tatou, and Sister Lino of the L.D.S. who stay with me in the hospital day and night after the tsunami to help care for the patients. And also my friend Laura who work very hard to help me and organise aid projects for hospital and women's groups.

I want to say thank you everyone for all your thoughts to us and generosity.

Fakamalo Lahi 'Aupito Mo e 'ofa lahi atu
