Newly-posted news articles are FREE on Matangi Tonga Online for a period of seven days so that everyone can access them. After seven days the articles move into our current archives where members who have paid-up subscriptions can view all of the 5,000+ articles in the website. But if you have not paid for your subscription only the summaries will be visible.

The Matangi Tonga Letters and Comments section is free and open at all times, along with all associated advertising and information links.

Premium Content: all Photo News and our Parliamentary Translations are an exclusive service for paid members. Premium content also includes news articles older than seven days.

Matangi Tonga Online is an independent news service supported only by website advertising, readers' subscriptions, and donations. We appreciate your support for this service, which requires a full time commitment from our staff, and involves some very large ICT costs and overheads.

To purchase a Matangi Tonga Online Premium Content Subscription you need to first register a User account with your correct email address.

How to become a Member

1. Register to become a Matangi Tonga Online member. Please make sure that your email address is current and correctly typed or we will not be able to deliver your user password.

2. Log in to your new user account and pay for your subscription online. Online subscribers will need a current Mastercard or Visa card to pay for their account. Alternatively, you may register over the counter in Tonga.

What is the cost?

A Premium Content account will allow you unrestricted access to all articles for the period of time that you subscribe to.

World Wide Individual Half-year NZD$49

World Wide Individual 1 year NZD$85

Amounts are quoted in NZD, and payment is by credit card. If you live in another country your bank will convert the amount to your home currency when they process the transaction, using the exchange rate of the day.

Tonga Local Subscriptions

Over-the-counter subscriptions are available at special local rate for residents of Tonga.

Money Transfer payments:

If you do not have a credit card you may still register for a Matangi Tonga Online account and send the funds by money transfer. This may take several days to complete.
